About TickerBench
TickerBench compares AI assistants for people in Canada who want a straight answer before they pay for a plan or paste anything personal into a chat. We have been reviewing software since 2022 and moved our focus to chat assistants as they became everyday tools.
Our editorial team
Ethan MacLeod
Managing Editor
Ethan has spent more than a decade reviewing software and everyday productivity tools, from note apps to calendar and email clients. He uses chat assistants daily for drafting and research, and he checks what they tell him against the original sources before a claim goes into a review.
How we test
Every assistant is used for at least 30 days from a Canadian account, starting on the free plan. We run the same task list on all six and read every answer. Errors are logged by hand. Prices come from each provider's own pages and the Canadian App Store, with the date we saw them. Scores cover twelve criteria, and each review shows the full table. The methodology section on our home page sets out the four steps.
How the site is funded
Some outgoing links are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission when a reader pays for a plan after following one. That money pays for testing accounts and editing time. No provider can pay for a position, a higher score or a review, and providers don't see our reviews before publication.
Corrections
Plans and prices change quickly. If you spot something out of date, write to us through the contact page with a link to the source. We check every report and update the page, along with the date in its byline.
