What we collect
- Server logs. Our web host records standard request data such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use it to keep the site running and to block abuse.
- Your cookie choice. Your browser stores your consent choice under the key "consent_state" in local storage. It stays on your device.
- Emails you send us. If you write to us, we keep your address and message to reply and, if you asked, to send the monthly update.
We do not ask for your name to read the site, and we do not sell personal information.
Analytics and advertising
Analytics and marketing storage are set to "denied" by default. At the time of writing we do not load any analytics or advertising service. If we add one, it will only run after you allow it in the cookie banner, and we will update this policy first.
Links to providers
When you follow a link to an assistant's website, that provider can see that you came from our site. From then on, its own privacy policy applies. We never send your name or email address to a provider.
How long we keep information
Server logs are kept for up to 30 days. Emails are kept for up to two years after our last exchange, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first.
Your rights
Under Canada's federal privacy law, PIPEDA, and the provincial laws that apply in Quebec, British Columbia and Alberta, you can ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. You can also withdraw consent. Write to the email above and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial commissioner.
Changes
We will post any change to this policy on this page and update the date at the top.
