About TickerBench
TickerBench compares trading platforms and charting software for people who trade from Canada. We test six platforms side by side, publish the full score table for each one and say plainly what each costs once data is added.
Our editorial team
Jordan Kessler
Editor-in-chief
Jordan Kessler has charted North American stocks and futures as a self-directed trader for more than ten years, moving between desktop platforms and browser tools along the way. At TickerBench, Jordan runs the 30-day test on every platform and re-checks prices before each update. Jordan's rule of thumb: a tool earns its fee only if it saves time on a busy market open.
How we test
Every platform is used for at least 30 days with the same watchlist of US and Canadian symbols, the same chart layouts and the same set of price alerts. We sign up as ordinary customers with our own email and card, so the prices, add-ons and renewal terms we report are the ones a reader would see. Each review scores 12 criteria from 1 to 10, from charting tools to Canadian access and support, and two more checks cover whether prices and cancellation terms are published. The full method is on the home page.
How we're funded
Some links to vendors are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, the vendor may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. Vendors can't pay for a place in the rankings, a higher score or an early look at a review. We pay for our own subscriptions and data during testing.
What we don't do
We review software. We don't give investment advice, recommend securities or tell anyone when to buy or sell. TickerBench and its operator are not registered with any securities regulator, and nothing here should be read as personal financial advice.
